Important Update Regarding EU Orders – Suspension of Sales Due to New GPSR Regulations

You may have heard that new safety regulations are coming into effect on December 13th, which will impact many goods exported from the UK to the EU. The new General Product Safety Regulations (GPSR) require comprehensive documentation to ensure that UK-made products comply with the updated EU safety standards.

Unfortunately, there is still a lack of detailed guidance from official UK government resources, making it difficult for small businesses like mine to fully understand the requirements. The information available seems to add another layer of bureaucracy with little practical advice on how to navigate the process – especially for those of us running small businesses with already tight margins.

As a hand-dyed yarn business, most of my work at Woollen Wytch is done on a small scale, and the costs involved in ensuring compliance with these new regulations are unfortunately not sustainable for me at this time.

In light of this, I have made the difficult decision to temporarily suspend all orders from the EU. I truly hope that this suspension will be brief, and I will be working hard to find a solution that allows me to resume shipping as soon as possible.

If you are based in the EU and would like to place an order, please do so before December 8th, as I will be closing EU orders to avoid any confusion or issues with the new regulations kicking in. The Subscription boxes will be unavailable for purchase for EU customers.

I’m so sorry for the inconvenience this may cause – it's frustrating to be in this position, especially when our biggest trading market is just across the channel! I will keep you updated on any progress and hope to have good news soon. Thank you so much for your understanding and continued support during this challenging time.

Warmly,
Stephanie
Woollen Wytch
